How to Draw Anything With Just Pencil and Paper by Erik Kopp is the perfect introduction to the process of drawing with a simple pencil and paper. Kopp details exactly what tools are needed, the type of pencils, the type of paper, erasers, and other implements to help you on your way to becoming an artist. He also shows the up and coming artist how to create grids on the drawing surface to break out the drawing process, making it a little easier. Furthermore, Kopp gives excellent instruction on how to draw the human face, again by breaking it out into sections, and exactly how to realistically draw eyes, eyebrows, noses and even lips. How To Draw Anything With Just Pencil And Paper Learn To Draw In 5 Easy Steps edition by Erik Kopp Arts Photography eBooks Reviews

I've been drawing for years, and have read many books on drawing, but I actually learned something new from this little book. Thank you for that!
Kopp has established a reputation in offering self-help books, and here we have no exception to his usual content.
To the point (no pun intended), Kopp draws out (really, no pun intended) the essentials of how to leverage the pencil in order to draw better. This wil probably be more attractive to novices or new learners, but I found one of two ideas I can not read about before, and I passed my examines in Art longer ago than I care to admit. If only there was a similar book on paper and ink, since this subject fascinates me even more.
I haven’t attempted to draw anything since I left school but had just decided to try drawing my cat when this book caught my eye. Unfortunately I had already gone out and equipped myself with the tools I thought I would need and, as I was uninformed, those purchases are not all ideal. Erik Klopp has a very sensible first chapter where he goes into great detail about exactly what equipment you need – pencil and paper yes, but which ones where there is a plethora of choice? I had bought a sketch book with paper of a suitable grade (basic copying paper will not do) but my pencils are not right and I had never even heard of a tortillon! (It’s a blending stump made out of paper).
Erik Kopp is very thorough explaining the best tools to purchase to get the results he teaches. He focuses on realistic feature in a face and how to proportionate everything evenly. There is a science to lining up the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.

How to Draw Anything with just Pencil and Paper is similar to a second year high school art class, or a first semester college class. Erik keeps it simple with organized steps so that those with a desire to draw can follow his instructions.

This book does not expound on abstract or cartoon drawing, nor is it a draw by numbers type book. What I enjoyed most about this book was Erik not only gives you the options of tools but he explains how they are used to get the desired results you are trying to attain.
The master of the pencil and watercolor for me was Durer, but if you can come close to drawing like Leonardo or MichelAngelo, you won’t be doing badly. The main purpose of this book is to teach you how to draw a human face. It’s pretty ambitious for a novice such as myself. I found the challenge quite daunting but the steps are easy to understand even if mastery will take longer. Of course, as the author points out, “You cannot learn everything overnight. You will need to do these exercises repeatedly and read this ebook more than one time.”
So it’s like mastering a musical instrument - you have to apply yourself diligently to succeed. However, the first step is in wanting to try it out. I do feel power empowered to make that effort, now that I have read this book.
Another reminder that I really sucks at drawing too. This is one of those things

along with learning how to play an instrument that I really need to master before

it’s too late.

This is the best introduction to anyone to start drawing, one of the best parts of

it is in the description where they actually wrote some accurate benefits for

those who draw, is a nice touch I really like it. The book is simple; there is no

complicated technique or process on anything, a straight list of steps on what’s

best for you to star drawing.

I’m always pleased with these types of books, they are really helpful and they

deliver everything, the length is really nice too, it doesn’t distract the reader to

the point you forgot what you were reading in the first place, in fact, after I finish

writing this review, I’m going to start and put to practice everything I learn with

this, as the description says ‘It’s never too early or too late to learn to draw’.
I am a fan of art, and drawing is one of the things that keep my mind off the reality. I am not expert though and I don’t even consider myself a good one since I draw just for fun. However, I like to go through a proper training on how to draw because I really want to know if I am doing it right. This book is a great help for me since I consider myself a beginner. I’ve learned a lot of things, especially how the instructional guide explained about the right materials to use, the right stroking, and the right shading.

I loved how the guide also used faces as a subject to the course because, for me, the faces are one of the difficult and challenging subjects to draw. After reading this book, I suddenly felt the need to learn more. I wish I could come across more books like this since it offered a lot of info about one of my favorite hobbies. For people out there who want to learn how to draw, this guide would be a perfect tool to start up with.
